Being diagnosed with HIV is devastating.

But it is not the end of the world.

HIV positive individuals today can have the same length and quality of life as those who are HIV-negative in similar conditions.

However, to be able to live a long and healthy life, HIV positive individuals need the following:

a) Uninterrupted access to antiretroviral medications (ART) and taking those medicines without fail.

b) Monitoring to check the medicines are working, using viral load tests

c) A baseline drug resistance genotyping test to detect the presence of resistance- this test finds out which medications will and will not work against the HIV strains inside a single infected person.

And of course,

Lots of social support- a caring family, circle of friends and a healthcare team.

We at MSCH are happy to work with you to help you stay on the path to a better, healthier and longer life!
